Blue lotus

Various parts of the lotus plant were used in medicine and cosmetics, reinforcing its value in daily rituals. Although scholars still debate on this, its seems that the blue lotus was also used during religious ceremonies and social gatherings. The petals and stamens of the blue lotus were steeped in wine, which created an infusion that was thought to induce a sense of calm, euphoria, and possibly even mild hallucinogenic experiences.
