The serpents earrings
Transformation / New Beginning / Letting Go
The earrings are shaped like a snake in the process of ecdysis: shedding its old skin. Snakes, which appear in various cultures, symbolize transformation, healing, and the eternal cycle of life. This design represents the embrace of change. Just like during the ecdysis process, our lives are filled with phases. Sometimes we feel complete, and sometimes far from it. Sometimes we feel light, and sometimes we are out of balance. No matter what phase you are going through, remember that it is not permanent. Life does not stay in one place; you are always moving from one phase to the next.

Inner strength / dedication / passion
The Flaming Heart, inspired by the Mexican symbol of protection, the Sacred Heart, represents the essence of personal transformation and self-discovery. The flames surrounding the heart symbolize the powerful inner fire that ignites your growth and change. This design reminds us that you don’t need great resources to make an impact. A single spark of inspiration can be enough to achieve your goals and transform your life. Let the flame in your heart burn brightly and discover the power within yourself to illuminate your path and fulfill your deepest dreams.

Life Force / Energy Enhancer / Protection
Although there are thousands of hieroglyphs and symbols found in Egyptian temples, the ankh is a symbol that you can, so to speak, 'recognize out of thousands.’ The ankh is an ancient Egyptian symbol of life force and the eternal cycle of life and rebirth. It is a protective symbol that reminds you of your own life force and your ability to grow, transform, and flourish. By living with a sense of gratitude and awareness, you can focus on the aspects of life that are truly important to you.

Wisdom / refelection
In Norse and Germanic culture, ravens are seen as messengers or symbols of the gods. The Norse god Odin represents both the pursuit of knowledge and the willingness to make great sacrifices for a higher purpose. According to the tales, he had two ravens: Huginn and Muninn. Huginn means "thought," and Muninn means "memory" or "remembrance." These names reflect their roles as Odin's eyes and ears in the world. Huginn symbolizes intellect, rational thinking, and the power of reflection. He represents the ability to contemplate the world, analyze, and understand what is happening. The ravens serve as a reminder of the power of thoughts and memories in shaping your identity and perspective on life, as well as the importance of a balanced view of life that values and considers both the past and the present and future.

Meaning / Talent
Milagros are well-known talismans in Mexican tradition. Literally translated, it means ‘miracles’ in Spanish. They are small symbols often painted or sculpted as prayers on altars, following a practice that dates back to ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt. People choose a Milagros that symbolizes their intentions or the nature of their prayers. It visualizes the belief that there is an invisible thread connecting us humans to the supernatural. This milagros design features a flower from which a hand blooms. The hand, embracing a tourmaline gemstone, embodies the harmonious fusion of unique qualities within each person. Just like a precious gemstone, you must cherish, nurture, and let it serve as your guiding star in life.

Feminine Energy / Motherhood / Protection
The Tyet is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection. Visually, the Tyet resembles the ankh symbol, but instead of a loop at the top, it features a loop with downward-hanging arms that resemble a knot or the female organ. The Tyet appears in the Egyptian Book of the Dead, where it is mentioned in various spells that provide protection and are associated with the goddess Isis and her role as the protector of the dead. As a symbol of Isis, who was herself the goddess of fertility, motherhood, and magic, the Tyet embodies the powers of creation and regeneration present in the female body.

TALISMAN / Intention
In essence, Milagros are small yet powerful symbols of faith, hope, and gratitude that are deeply rooted in Mexican culture. They connect people to their spiritual beliefs and offer a way to express prayers and wishes in a physical and tangible manner. Typically made of silver, tin, copper, or gold, they can also be crafted from wood or other materials. Milagros can take various forms, such as body parts (arms, legs, hearts), animals, houses, or other symbols. Each form of a Milagro holds a specific meaning. For example, a heart can symbolize love or healing, while an arm can represent strength or recovery. This is a form of personal devotion where the object serves as a physical symbol of a prayer or wish.

Essence of Nature / Inner Journey
The spiral shape is a universal symbol found in countless places throughout antiquity, such as the prehistoric cave paintings in France and Spain, megalithic monuments like Newgrange in Ireland, and among Indigenous American cultures as well as ancient Egypt. It refers to the rhythmic patterns in nature, such as the changing seasons, the phases of the moon, the movements of stars, and the cycles of birth, growth, decay, and renewal. The spiral reflects this interconnected nature of existence, while the snake also serves as the guardian of this knowledge and symbolizes self-discovery. It represents the journey to the inner self, where each turn marks a new level of insight or enlightenment.

Alchemy of the Soul / Rebirth
In ancient Egypt, the blue lotus symbolizes the cycle of the sun and is therefore associated with rebirth and enlightenment. Just as the sun rises and sets each day, the blue lotus opened at sunrise and closed at sunset. This daily ritual of the flower represented the spiritual journey of the soul, from darkness (ignorance) to light (knowledge and enlightenment). It symbolizes that we can grow through our difficulties in life and bloom into our own beautiful form. In ancient Egypt, the blue lotus was sometimes used during religious ceremonies due to its alleged calming and euphoric properties. The use of it led to a sense of peace, heightened awareness, and connection with the divine. The Egyptians used the substance for self-reflection, meditation, and spiritual growth, finding balance between the physical and the spiritual and achieving a state of inner harmony.

Versterken van je intenties
een brug tussen oude wijsheid en de intenties die zetten voor ons zelf
My designs serve as a bridge between ancient wisdom and the intentions we set for ourselves. Our personal development and symbolism are intrinsically connected. As humans, we are emotionally linked to everything we have and see around us. Therefore, what we associate with our belongings is essential; it activates the neural pathways in our brains when we look at them throughout the day and what we associate with that object. Your jewelry makes your personal intentions tangible and acts as a daily reminder of where you want to move towards and the beliefs you wish to carry with you on that journey.
About Cindy Sonne
From wax & clay to personal jewelry.
Cindy Sonne comes from a family of sculptors—her mother, grandfather, and great-grandfather all worked with ceramics and glazes. This inspired her to specialize in carving jewelry from blocks of wax, similar to constructing earthenware sculptures. The combination of wax, clay, and recycled and fairmined precious metals brings each piece of jewelry to life. She uses the ancient lost-wax technique, which was also employed by the ancient Egyptians and Romans for crafting statues and jewelry. This method results in unique, organic shapes with a touch of imperfection, making her style distinctive.
